The North District is a part of the Indiana Annual Conference of the Fourth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The district has twenty-five churches representing the central and northern part of Indiana in suburban, urban and rural areas including Indianapolis, Gary, South Bend, Fort Wayne, Logansport, Peru, Marion, Kokomo, Elkhart, Michigan City, LaPorte, East Chicago, Hammond, Noblesville, Lafayette, Plainfield and Fishers, Indiana.
The Indiana Annual Conference is the oldest conference in the Fourth Episcopal District formed out of the evangelistic mandate of William Paul Quinn who later became a Bishop in the AME church. During his zeal, churches, schools and missions were established and the North District is still a testimony of that evangelistic commitment.
